Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump
$0.99

What It Has: The winner of the 2010 Apple Design Award (think of it as the Academy Award for iPhone Apps), this app has to be good. Doodle Jump has to be one of, if not the, single-most addicting iPhone game that I've ever played. It has a simple concept of continuing upward by bouncing up platforms, fighting off enemies, and collecting power-ups. Its quick loading times, various themes, and regular updates from Lima Sky (Developer), assure that the game never gets stale. If you've never played Doodle Jump before, its simplistic appearance may seem rather boring, but once you start playing, you can't put it down. Plus, if all of that wasn't enough, Doodle Jump was mentioned on an episode of The Big Bang Theory.

What It's Missing: With all of the positive comments I just named, what could Doodle Jump possibly be missing? In essence; nothing. Doodle Jump claims to be a simple little game, and does that very well. Some players have complained about a lack of a custom level editor, that they want more themes, and a lack of music. However, these are all rather minor problems considering how many positive aspects Doodle Jump has going for it. All in all, Doodle Jump is a fantastic app, and for a meagre price of $0.99, it's essential for every app library.
